Conwy Library
We have been in our new home inside Conwy Culture Centre since it opened in December 2019. There has been a library in Conwy since 1864, and before our recent move, we could be found in the Civic Hall on Castle Street.
Our new library has a modern and airy design, with plenty of sunshine and natural light. We have heritage exhibits and interactive displays among the bookshelves, and share our space with the County Archive Service and Cantin café.
Our welcome extends to outside too, thanks to our beautiful dementia-friendly sensory garden and a reading circle.
We’re more than just a library - we’re a bolt hole, a place to relax with a good book and a coffee.
At Conwy Library you can:
- Enjoy free access to public computers
- Log in to free Wi-Fi
- Print, scan or photocopy documents
- Look through our Local History boxes
- Hire a community room
- Bring your family to the children’s library
- Enjoy a coffee, a cake or a delicious lunch at the café
- Meet with staff from the Council’s Revenues and Benefits Service
We also have regular events, including:
- Story time for the under-5s
- Online taster sessions
- Reading group
The library has access for the disabled, as well as a Hearing Induction loop, British Sign Language service, and Boardmaker educational software. There are bus stops nearby, on Town Ditch Road and Bangor Road. Parking for the Culture Centre is at nearby Bodlondeb, and there are spaces for Blue Badge holders at the back of the building. We also have public toilets and baby-changing facilities.
