As a member of Conwy Libraries you get free access to the National Library of Wales’s online resources. These include academic journals, encyclopaedias and newspaper archives dating back to Victorian times.
As a member of Conwy Libraries you get free access to the National Library of Wales’s online resources. These include academic journals, encyclopaedias and newspaper archives dating back to Victorian times.
You have to be resident in Wales, and have a Welsh postcode, to see these resources for free. However, some resources are available without needing to register, such as:
- Places of Wales – Search through more than 300,000 tithe maps of Wales, which give information about historical land ownership and use
- Welsh Journals – Look through academic, scientific, literary and popular magazines relating to Wales published between 1735 and 2007
- Welsh Newspapers Online – Access 15 million newspaper articles from across Wales, dating from 1804 to 1919, including the North Wales Weekly News, Western Mail and Llandudno Advertiser
- Dictionary of Welsh Biography – Read over 5,000 biographies of people who have had a significant impact on national life, either in Wales or beyond. There’s an interactive timeline, or you can browse by surname
